Freedom of information law (FOIL) request # 19589

One year ago, the Coalition to Save the Public Recreation Center Downtown (SPRCD), submitted a Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) request seeking any government records that could justify demolishing the Tony Dapolito Recreation Center. The City recently disclosed a trove of files in response to the request, none of which indicate that the facility must be demolished. Instead, the FOIL records contain extensive expert-rendered assessments from architects, engineers and contractors confirming that the facility can be repaired and reopened, despite claims to the contrary.
